Will there be teachers of the Law in the kingdom of Heaven?

Yes.

Jesus says whoever practices and teaches the commands of the Law of Moses will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

He says every teacher of the Law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old. I have no idea what that part about new and old treasures is supposed to mean, but it sure sounds like there are going to be teachers of the Law in the kingdom of heaven.

Maybe?

Jesus told a teacher of the Law that he was not far from the kingdom of God. Which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s possible for him to actually get into the kingdom, but he sure makes it sound that way.

Paul says Christians whose work involves teaching are particularly worthy of honor. He doesn’t specify what they’re teaching, though, or how they might be rewarded.

And then there’s James, who claims that God will judge Christians more strictly if they are teachers. So if they’re teachers of the Law, it will be harder for them to make it into the kingdom of heaven than if they weren’t teachers. But it’s still possible for them to get into the kingdom, right?

No.

God’s ideal world doesn’t need teachers of the Law. God intends to put his Law into everyone’s minds directly. Then no one will ever teach anyone about God again.

Jesus says you can’t enter the kingdom of heaven unless your righteousness surpasses that of the teachers of the Law. And if you are a teacher of the Law, then your righteousness can’t surpass that. It can only equal it, at best.

Also, Jesus directly condemns the teachers of the Law. He says they are hypocrites who prevent others from entering the kingdom of heaven, and will not enter it themselves, either. Jesus blames the teachers of the Law for murdering all the prophets, and he can’t see how these snakes could possibly escape being condemned to hell.
